We are currently seeking candidates for the following positions
Maintenance Crew Leader
Position: Seasonal Full-Time (April to End of October)
As a Maintenance Crew Leader, you will lead a team and report daily to the Maintenance Manager. This role requires knowledge of plant identification and care, general garden maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilizing. You must also communicate professionally with clients and relay their requests to the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in landscape maintenance
- Strong leadership skills
- Physically fit and able to perform outdoor labor all day
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Valid work visa or permanent residency
- Knowledge of plant identification and general care
Duties:
- Perform spring and fall cleanups
- Track and report daily time and material usage to the Maintenance Manager
- Mow and trim lawns
- Conduct general garden maintenance, including weeding, cultivating, and plant care
- Maintain daily cleanliness of trucks and tools
Wage: starting at $28-$33/hour based on experience
Landscaping Maintenance Crew
Position: Seasonal Full-Time (April to End of October)
As a member of the Landscaping Maintenance Crew, you will assist with the upkeep and care of outdoor spaces. Reporting to the Crew Leader, your responsibilities include garden maintenance, lawn care, and ensuring the cleanliness of tools and equipment. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job, as training is provided.
Requirements:
- No prior experience necessary; training provided
- Physically fit and able to handle hard outdoor labor
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Valid work visa or permanent residency
Duties:
- Perform spring and fall cleanups
- Track daily time and work progress
- Mow and trim lawns
- Conduct garden maintenance, including cultivating, weeding, and fertilizing outdoor areas
- Ensure weekly cleanliness of trucks and tools
Wage: starting at $25-$28/hour based on experience
Garden Shop Manager
Position: Seasonal (April – October)
As a Garden Shop Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our retail garden center. Responsibilities include scheduling and supervising staff, managing plant material and inventory, delivering exceptional customer service, and driving sales. You will also collaborate with the construction team to ensure daily deliveries and weekly plant pickups from the city are completed efficiently.
Requirements:
- Strong plant knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Duties:
- Schedule and supervise garden shop staff
- Create and maintain attractive daily displays
- Manage weekly inventory orders and ensure timely restocking
- Update the garden shop’s social media with engaging content
Wage: starting at $27-$35/hour based on experience
Construction Crew Member
Position: Seasonal Full-Time (April to November)
High Country Landscaping is a locally owned business with 40 years of experience creating stunning landscapes in Whistler, BC. We are committed to fostering a positive and fun work environment while delivering high-quality landscaping services to our clients. Job Description:
- Work as part of a team to build landscapes in all aspects
- Lay patios and walkways with precision
- Build retaining walls to enhance outdoor spaces
- Transport and plant trees, shrubs, and perennials from the nursery to client properties
- Maintain organization of tools and adhere to daily truck cleanliness procedures
Requirements:
- Physically able to lift 50 pounds and perform outdoor labor for 8 hours a day
- Maintain professionalism on all job sites
- Valid BC driver’s license
- Valid work visa or permanent residency
- Punctuality: Arrive 5 minutes before the start time, ready to work
Wage: starting at $26-$33/hour based on experience
